A printer plugged into a till by USB and also on the network shows here twice. Print a test on each: every slip names its route. If both slips come out of the same printer, say so and it becomes one printer — USB first, the network if USB can’t print.
A profile is how one kind of device is set up at every store: its job, its kitchen station, its printers and its screen. Give a device a profile when you add it and it comes up set up the moment it pairs. Change a profile and every device using it changes too.
Type the serial number or network address printed on the box's label, and say what it will be. When that box is switched on and connects, it shows on its device below — tap Confirm and it sets itself up. Nobody types a code on the box.
Save the spreadsheet as CSV, then pick the file or paste it here. The first line names the columns: serial number and/or network address, then job (till, kitchen screen, self-order kiosk, menu board, customer display), and if you like profile, name, till number, kitchen station. Up to 500 boxes.
It goes on the store's list in Command Center straight away. You can get its pairing code now or later.
Screens and boxes that switched on and are waiting for you. A screen opened at /device.html shows a six-character code. Three ways to set one up: give it a pairing code from the store's list; type the code it shows (someone in the store can read it to you); or press Set up waiting devices and do several at once. Each one switches over by itself — nothing to type on the device.
Office TVs connect with the 6-digit code they show on screen — no pairing code from here.
